The Greek fascist Junta ruled from 1967 to1974. In 1974 after a failed coup to overthrow the President of Cyprus, Turkey acting as guarantor power decided to invade the island. Since then it has never left rendering it practically divided into two. My first part of the journey concentrated on understanding and experiencing the wounds left over from these events. Now however I wish to continue my journey and take it back to Greece. With a rise in extremism and the emergence of the fascist political party Golden Dawn in the recent parliamentary elections there is a sense of history repeating itself. In the past being a Cypriot has always made me feel that there was always a sense of remorse for Greece's past actions albeit the fact that the responsibility rested on the shoulders of a few foolhardy men. I am curious to see how those feelings have changed.
