From my trip to Varanasi this past summer. Varanasi is one of the most holy places for Hindu's. The goal to reach Moksha and stop the cycle of reincarnation. By being cremated at Varanasi one hopes to achieve Moksha. Bodies are burned and the ashes are put into the Ganga (Ganges River). Taken at the Manikarnika Ghat.
