An evocative photograph from my Harlem Nocturnal series, begun in 2001. It explores repurposed neighborhood fixtures that served as way finding directories and the area's rich history. Despite the significant transformations 125th Street has undergone since the image was captured, these directories stand as vestiges of a bygone era. In the distance, a full moon emerges, partially veiled by delicate, high cirrus clouds, adding a mystical ambiance to the scene. This juxtaposition of the celestial and the urban invites viewers to reflect on the passage of time and the enduring spirit of Harlem.
