The Washington Post’s 2021 Summer Internship Program Now Accepting Applications
Aug 12, 2020.

A message from Tracy Grant, Managing Editor:

In an act of faith and hope, today we opened up the application process for The Washington Post Internship Program for Summer 2021. Everything students/faculty members/recruiters need to know is at intern.washpost.com and I’d appreciate greatly you spreading the word.

To answer some of the most-asked questions (and yes there’s an FAQ):

Applications will be accepted until noon ET October 7, 2020
Students must be current juniors, seniors or graduate students as of the application deadlines. No exceptions.
Students must have had previous experience in a major newsroom.
Yes, we pay; $750/week

This is one of the best experiences a young journalist can have. The room is full of former interns, including a current managing editor. We have an amazing track record of hiring interns into full-time positions. But even those who don’t get immediately hired, get exposure to the world’s best reporters, editors, photographers, videographers, multi-platform editors, audio producers in a way that profoundly shapes their careers. There is nothing I am looking forward to more in 2021 than welcoming a full intern class back into our newsroom.

Please do whatever you can to make sure that as many talented young journalists as possible hear about our program.
