A collection of photographs shot in the south west of India in early 2014, whilst travelling from Mumbai to the south of Kerala. The images attempt to show what it is like to experience a place for the first time, aware of being the outsider looking in.
Photographed are places in which people congregate, for reasons varying from the political, social, occupational and religious. Included in the collection, are landscapes taken in places of spiritual and historical importance, portraits of people working the land and every day snap shots that hope to give an insight and a rare glimpse in to the quieter times of such a relentlessly energetic place, saturated with colour.
The photographs are produced on film using a large format field camera and a 35mm camera.
