To prevent infections with COVID-19 schools that reopened for in-person learning adopted various measures. Signs were posted and spaces reconfigured.

In Rye Neck School District’s four schools in Mamaroneck, NY, signs remind students and staff to maintain six feet distance, wear masks and wash hands after using bathrooms. The district invested in cleaning supplies, plexiglass barriers, and hand sanitizers. Windowless rooms are equipped with air filtration systems, while water fountains are covered. Chairs in classrooms and cafeteria are spaced six feet apart and wall and floor signs tell students and staff on which side of the corridors they should walk or which staircase they should use.
