My heightened sensitivity allows me to find beauty in unexpected places, yet it can also cause an uneasy sense of vulnerability. While there are joyful discoveries made through introspection and contemplation, this attention to detail can also lead to over-analysis and anxiety, resulting in the desire to hide away. I am interested in this sensation of feeling trapped inside oneself, as if in a sealed vessel, untouchable. This series is a visual poem, a cento of photographs brought together from a five-year period particularly fraught with depression and uncertainty. All printed using the cyanotype process, the images are combined in varying shades of blue, a color that evokes calm as well as melancholy.
