PROJECT PROPOSAL

Documentary and Travel Photographer.

Genre: Nature and Objects in Nature.

Title of project.

My project name is objects in nature and the name reflects the photos I will be shooting in the different locations. I will be looking for interests and authentic scenery that I can photograph and present in unique way that best describes my style.

In the following media project, I will be taking a number of photos. I will produce 20 of the best photos for my project and use them display purposes as well as posting the finished work photographs to my photography blog.

Theme and genre.

For my theme and genre of my project, I will be looking to compose photos in the documentary and nature genre. As I am interested in documenting the natural beauty of nature, that is overlooked and blends in with the surrounding. In addition to this, I will also include shots to document the beauty of nature in forests and mountains in Uganda. The main reason for the project is to help different organizations that are working together to save the environment ‘’ Taasa Obutonde ‘’ and also support tourism in Uganda ‘ Visit Uganda ‘.

The main areas that I will be shooting in as part of my theme and genre will be Rwenzori Mountains National Park and Lake Mburo National park.

For my photography, I will be experimenting with different natural light from bright greens, browns in high-moon daylight to darker evening colors with deep shadows and to convey meaning through time and natural conditioning such as a mist on mountain top could convey feeling of earthliness and loneliness of moving through the unknowing that the mist act as natural hinderers for the senses.

Time and budget.

My planning to use only 5 weeks for the project;

1 weeks in Rwenzori Mountains National park.

1 week at Lake Mburo National Park.

2 weeks I will be sorting and editing my creations.

1 week I will be publishing my work.

In total, I will use 406 USD for all expenses.

My name is Kigozi Alvin Elisha (Alvin Visuals) a Ugandan Painter and Photographer. I have been a Freelance photographer for the past 5 years, beginning as a street photographer while pursuing my UCE Exams (Uganda Certificate of Education). As my true passion lies in documentary and travel photography, I have been working hard and am also still working hard to buy myself a camera and also get booked for documentary projects. I later got a connection to work for a studio in Bunga-Kampala Uganda, while there started learning and teaching myself studio lighting, studio portraits, studio posing of clients and etc. I have spent my 3 years (2018-2020) working as a light fixer and also photography assistant.
