I met this little girl at a soup kitchen in Rochester, New York while capturing images that helped to answer the question, 'What is poverty?' She and her mother were visiting their grandmother as they were in need of nutritional support. After meeting and getting to know them, they agreed to let me into their home to document what a day in the life of their littlest family member looked like.

At the time of my home visit, they had no means of garbage disposal, used their food stamps at the gas station across the street to purchase lunch that day and were living in what some might consider squalor and filth. Her father struggling to make ends meet and nearing the loss of his job, while her mother was on the hunt for a job, had one very rich thing to offer her...lots of love.
