Only 14% of women make up the ranks of enlisted in the military and only 16% are commissioned officers. Those statistics are reflected as well with the women of Syracuse University’s Stalwart Battalion. While the women are extremely hardworking, at the top of their game and phenomenal leaders, it is still difficult to operate a strongly male dominated field. This project came about to celebrate the talents, accomplishments, and hard work of the women in ROTC and turned into an empowerment and confidence boosting showing of the power of these women. The photos were not only used for the project but taken for the women themselves so they could have something to remind themselves of their worth and talent as they move through the ROTC program here at Syracuse and onto being Officers in the US Army. This project was in partnership with the Syracuse University Army ROTC program and was published as a website.
