My work centers on the reality of belonging to a place, and how labor conditions, culture shifts and globalization, climate change, and economic uncertainty challenge our individual and collective sense of belonging. My ongoing projects include documenting the socioeconomic impacts of an aerial gondola mass transit system in Bogota, Colombia; the economic and social pressures facing rural youth and aging farmworkers in Colombia's principal coffee-growing region; and the San Francisco Bay Area's Dia de los Muertos celebrations.
I have received a reporting grant from the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting. I am also a proud member of Diversify Photo.
