Sean Ewaskowitz, 7, rides his scooter as an oil rig towers nearby Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018 at Erie Community Skate Park. Their family lives in a mile radius of 158 wells and his mother, a pharmacologist, Beth Ewaskowitz became concerned about the health of her son. She tested his blood for cancer-causing chemicals, called VOCs, and the results showed abnormally high levels of toxins connected to oil and gas drilling.
