The splenders of the Grand Canyon; the majesty of a mature oak with hanging moss; the flowing of water creating the expanse of the Mississippi River develop through time. Denise Burridge's artistry is the development of life experiences, from early sketches of Mickey Mouse bourne out of poverty to capturing the fleeting moments of childhood. Each photograph taken envelopes the spirit of the subject she charms with prisms of light through the lens, be it a dry landscape of billowing tumbleweeds to the emerald colors of the Gulf of Mexico, or the wonderment in a child's eye at seeing a first rainbow.Transpiciuous is her work. With today's phones and tablets, anyone can snap a picture, but there is a difference between a picture and a photograph. A picture is a snap shot of time. A photograph is the remembrance of a moment in time that becomes a cherished memory. A photograph stirs the heart to connect with the subject, be it a grain of sand, a sunrise on a mountain top, or a child returning a turtle to its natural home. Denise Burridge captures the emotion, the feeling, the moment that evolves into stories filled with laughter, memories, warmth, connection... Her photography is art.
