Summary
Images from a recently formed ice cave in Katlajoukll glacier, which is an outlet glacier (glacial tongue) of the Mýrdalsjökull glacier in South Iceland. Mýrdalsjökull covers one of Iceland's most active volcanoes, Katla, which erupts roughly every forty to eighty years. Due to climate change, glaciologists estimate that Katlajokull will have disappeared in the next eight years, greatly impacting the surrounding landscape.
