This project focuses on the exploration of mental and emotional states, illustrating them through the use of visual metaphors and the juxtaposition of signifiers. By doing this, my intention is to create a more complex and complete sense of meaning. Understanding the mechanisms of the mind is a fascination that has haunted me since I was very young. I use my own psychology as a starting point to go deeper into universal issues, questioning my perception of the world in order to expand the avenues of new possible psychological journeys.
I created Búho as a map to the subconscious. Using a 35mm camera I frequently play around with double exposures, searching for connections and relationships that exist in the world and the unique ways in which the mind interacts with them. Memories are brought into the present moment, and stories are spontaneously told by the subconcious. I am deeply interested in the paths of meaning that each viewer draws from the images because I find that each one is so unique and personal, and is ultimately a direct reflection of who they and we all are.
