Zan Zegedi Azadi: From New York to Tehran, a year of protest in the name of Mahsa Amini, a monograph
It began with a memorial vigil for Ms. Amini in Washington Square Park in Greenwich Village then protests in Union Square New York City, then Foley Square in dowtown Manhattan and mobilization rally in Washington, DC.
Spontaneously and primarily mobilized through social media networks.
On September 16 Woman Life Freedom New York is organizing an anniversary memorial for Ms. Amini in New York City.
It will be 'Mahsa Day' on September 5 with a focus on events at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City, the legislation for the bill named in honor of Ms. Amini that is currently in mark-up with Congress and women's rights.
My photo book will concentrate on the role of women in the protests, 'the phenomenon of the protest in New York,' and the meaning of Ms Amini's death from New York to Tehran.
