In the 2016 US Presidential election, the county with the highest percentage popular vote for Donald Trump was Wallace County, Kansas. When interviewed, residents gave a variety of reasons for voting for Trump, but most cited his hardline views on immigration reform and how they relate back to terrorism. When pressed, most interviewees admitted to not knowing, and some never having met, a practicing muslim, refugee, or person from the countries listed on Trump's travel ban. This collection of portraits and landscapes from February, 2017 represents a narrow slice of the residents of Wallace County, and the world they live in.
