About

As a black woman, I want to continue my search for identity through film and writing. America is filled with historic places of culture and people. In every piece of work I do, I try to honor my heritage and people in the name of representation. I want viewers of all ages to be changed emotionally and mentally by the messages I convey from writing and/or film. I feel as though this opportunity will provide me with abundance through its liveliness. I strive to bridge the gap between my audience and myself because transparency validates my individual freedom and reflection. I interpret my art as a way to inform through my experiences, in which I can communicate with a general or specific audience. Vulnerability taught me how to captivate others through art and heighten emotion, by allowing me to explore my thoughts and memories. As a filmmaker, showcasing my vulnerability opens a personal relationship with my audience, more specifically, it highlights the inevitable force of life and how I grew through my experiences.
