On February 6, 2023, a devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck southern Turkey. It turned cities and historical landmarks to rubble. Within nine hours, a second 7.5 magnitude earthquake hit. The events claimed around 50,000 lives.Ten cities were destroyed, and thousands of people were left trapped under the rubble calling for help. Eight days after the original earthquake, the Ukrainian rescue team successfully pulls woman out from the ruins of her house in Antakya. She had survived there in freezing conditions, and with no food or fresh water – a near miracle.
