Locked down in the same narrow space; we have different ideas, different dreams and each one of us has his own problems.
Yet, we are sharing the same passion for Photography and the camera.
When I first arrived to New York I felt like a stranger, I felt lonely.
I stayed in a small apartment with two Egyptians and one Filipino: Mostafa, Owise and Rico. We didn’t have that much time to talk and get closer to each other.
Until the Corona-virus came, and we got locked down in our small apartment together.
It wasn’t easy for us not to go out. As photographers, we are not used to that.
It got worse when Mostafa and Owise got very sick, we were almost certain it was the virus. They didn’t have the chance to get tested but they had all the symptoms.
We were living in worry and fear that something bad might happen to them. Luckily, They started feeling better soon after.
During our quarantine we tried to spend our times in different ways: we worked out, watched movies, cooked and we even had a party at home.
Zoom calls, talking with friends and attending classes were ways to stay in a good state of mind.
I am trying to document the sweet and bitter aspects of our quarantine.
