My image that was entered in the Pulitzer competition in 1998. I was not even a year out of college when I made it. The experience still haunts me. The guy with the hand sticking up didn't make it. The hardest thing was to keep making frames when there was nothing I could do to help. It sucked then, and it still sucks, but afterwards, they figured out what went wrong, and they used the photos for better training to make sure it doesn't happen again. This isn't an image I brag about, I made it, I did my job that day, but seeing the Washington Post Superbowl ad made me think maybe it's time to talk about it, and the tough job journalists have.
