I am a filmmaker and cinematographer with a profound passion for bringing stories to life. What I love about photography is that I can grab my camera, walk out the door and capture stories that are all around me and discover what they mean to me. In that sense I agree with Henri Cartier Bresson when he said, "My camera is my diary", because through the stories and images he captured he felt like he was sharing his own story with the viewer.
Although my passion for capturing images and telling stories was always with me I didn't invest myself in it until quite late in my life. I used to build homes and communities for middle income families across Puerto Rico. It was a very gratifying job that allowed me to meet many wonderful people and deliver to them their dream of owning a new home. But eventually I was left wanting to pursue my own dream.
So I left real estate and began work on my first project as a filmmaker, a documentary about the growing influence of Latinos in American electoral politics. I also made a commitment to spend my time off taking photographs and even working on a couple of reportage series.
I like to capture the things I see when I walk out of my door. That makes every day a new and unpredictable adventure.
