Headed by filmmakers, photographers and activists Carmen Elsa Lopez and Evan Abramson, the harts gallery is an artist-run space focused on building community and inspiring transformation through a robust amalgamation of contemporary art exhibitions, workshops and cultural programming. Finding inspiration in Joseph Beuys' concept of Social Sculpture, the gallery functions as a gathering space where community can form around the common values of creativity, vision, sustainability and collaboration.
Our 5,000-square-foot street-level space showcases museum-quality works by local and international artists. We also provide innovative programming and community outreach initiatives. Programming includes workshops for children and adults, seminars, lectures by regional luminaries, live performances, film screenings, artist talks and guided tours of exhibitions in both Spanish and English.
In partnership with arts organizations and thought-leaders in the region, the harts gallery is aiming to establish an artist residency program that would attract emerging artists, exhibit their work, and connect them with highly regarded art collectors. Our space also offers a unique venue for community-driven collaborations and special events.
Please support the harts gallery. Your tax-deductible contribution enables the harts gallery to maintain and further develop its ground-breaking programming and reach out to a wider community.
