In its efforts to make significant strides in Nasarawa State, Nigeria, Husk Power Systems thanks to funding from Ashden have been installed solar mini-grids in several rural communities, including Igbabo in Doma Local Government Area, and Kiguna in Lafia Local Government Area. These installations are part of a broader initiative under the Nigeria Electrification Project (NEP), supported by the World Bank and the African Development Bank. The solar mini-grids provide electricity to approximately 5,000 households and numerous small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in these underserved areas. This increased access to reliable electricity helps drive economic growth and improve the quality of life for residents. Husk Power's efforts in Nasarawa State are part of a larger goal to install green mini-grids across numerous sites, aiming to electrify at least 2 million Nigerians in the coming years.
