Max Siegelbaum began reporting in post-revolution Egypt, where he wrote about the Egyptian judiciary, the dying infrastructure of Alexandria and an association of men with enormous mustaches, among many other subjects. He is a graduate of the Stabile Center for Investigative Journalism at Columbia University and has written for newspapers in Denver and Pittsburgh, Foreign Policy, VICE and STAT, among others. In the United States, he has investigated healthcare conditions for detained immigrants with mental illness, due process violations of immigration courts located inside prisons and an inconsistently enforced law in Colorado that’s designed to protect domestic violence survivors.
