Lonnie Tucker is the picture of a man who lives to work. Each morning before the sun rises, Tucker climbs into his truck and drives the 10 yards from his house to his barn – his ailing 78-year-old body can no longer do it on its own. He spends the next few hours tending to and milking his now three dairy cows that constitute Hawk Hill Micro Dairy, Tucker’s passion and life project. At the beginning of the year, Tucker underwent elective back surgery with a high mortality rate in order to ensure his ability to live and breathe his passion for more years to come. Now, after six months of rehab with his business on hiatus, Tucker has recently restarted the dairy and is finally getting back to doing what he loves.
