An architectural canvas of light and geometry, this facade is a marvel of contemporary design. The photograph captures the essence of avant-garde architecture in the facade of the Seliger Pater Rupert Mayer church. Renowned architects Andreas Meck and Axel Frühauf have masterfully created a building that is a tribute to crystalline forms, aptly nicknamed ‘God’s ski jump’ due to its distinctive profile. With an astounding 15,000 three-dimensional tiles, each angle offers a unique interplay of light, casting a myriad of reflections that bring the structure to life. This facade is not just a barrier but a dynamic interface, engaging with the sun to produce a spectacle of brilliance and shadow. It stands as a beacon of innovation, transforming the mundane into the sublime. In 2011, meck architekten, led by Andreas Meck and Axel Frühauf, won the competition together with civil engineer Hans-Ludwig Haushofer and landscape architects lohrer.hochrein. Construction began in 2015 and was completed in 2018. Rudolf+Sohn Architekten designed the building.
