Mario Toro Quintero (1994) is a photographer whose work has been mainly focused on the development of documentary and reportage work. Walking between the Colombian rurality unknown to many, and the crowded routine of the cities, he has been able to capture with his lens historical moments such as processes of peasant resistance to state attacks, the National Strike in 2019 and 2021, the pandemic as a result of COVID-19 from his city or the triumph of the first leftist President in his country. His work has been published in media such as El País, DW, The Guardian, Al Jazeera and Reuters.
Toro's work explores the importance of culture, traditions and the peasant and indigenous roots of his country for the construction of memory, social transformation and peace.
