Natosha Via is a documentary photographer focused on stories of everyday folks whose struggles, successes, and connections are invariably woven into the undercurrents of ailments and achievements in our society as a whole. She uses photography to honor the humanity in people with a deep reverence for the layers of community, cultural crossroads, intimate stories, and life. Natosha is currently working on stories of individuals and communities who work to collaborate for change, or are in a marginalized position in facing down life challenges. Natosha has had photographs published with NPR, the New York Times, Smithsonian Magazine, Propublica and more, but feels an inner commitment to long term stories with those she has developed close photographic relationships with. Natosha is driven to highlight stories around social and environmental justice and was the recipient of the Kentucky Foundation for Women Artist Enrichment Grant for 2021. Natosha currently resides in her hometown of Louisville, Kentucky.
