On Monday 23rd March 2020 the UK Government announced a nationwide lockdown to curb the spread of COVID-19. The purpose of this action would minimise fatalities and ease pressure on the National Health Service (NHS). My wife’s work contract finished abruptly and my kids (8yrs and 9yrs) school closed. Suddenly we were all at home together in our small house, the first week was challenging, as we realised the sobering gravity of this global pandemic. Now in week 5, we have got into some sort of weird surreal routine - the new ab-normal. Work has been replaced by attempts at home schooling, and joining sombre queues at the local supermarket in an eerily silent London.
