NOW OPEN!

The Mütter Museum of The College of Physicians of Philadelphia has attracted those interested in pathology, morbid anatomy, and human development since 1859. However, even repeat visitors may be unaware that only a fraction of the Museum's collection of 35,000 objects is on display at any given time; the remainder is sequestered in storage rooms that are scattered around the building and not accessible to the public. Photographer Nikki Johnson explored these behind-the-scenes spaces of the College and created inspired still life photos of items that intrigued her. The result of her work is Unseen.
Unseen features dramatic images of rarely-seen Museum specimens and spaces through the lens of renowned forensic photographer, Nikki Johnson, displayed in the College’s Thomson Hall. The exhibition provides visitors with a visual backstage pass into our storage areas that will delight and enthrall Mütter Museum fans!
