View of the seaside at Vlorë, the previous capital of Albania from its independence in 1912 until 1920 when it was moved to Tirana. Today Vlorë is a growing resort destination with luxury hotels being constructed on its long beach, and is also the gateway to the southern Albanian coastline, known as the Albanian Riviera.
