Recent assignment for the New York Times on the Pawsox and impending move to Worcester, MA. The Pawsox have been in Pawtucket, RI since the 1970s and many of the great Red Sox players of the last few decades started their careers there.

What is special about the Pawsox is the unique baseball watching experience at McCoy stadium. Ticket prices have remained incredibly low making quality baseball accessible for all and there are many opportunities for kids and families to interact with the players and the field. I've been a baseball fan for twenty years and have never experienced a ballgame like this. It is quite a shame things will change in two years when the Pawsox move to Worcester, MA. A new stadium is being built with new owners and there is fear that the team will be commercialized and the charm of the old club will fade away.
