My short-term goal pertains to promoting animal rights and combatting the notion that the world is anthropocentric by sharing the stories of endangered species through multimedia arts. In the long-term, I aim to become a National Geographic photographer so I may share stories of not just Philippine wildlife, but of all animals in the world that need more exposure to be conserved. I created Our Endangered Philippines with the thought that a big part of why these species are endangered is because not a lot of people are aware that they even exist in the first place. The Native community not only allows me to gain more experience as a self-taught photographer but to be recognized as a Filipina woman coming from an underrepresented community. Through Native, I hope to meet more BIPOC and surround myself with diverse individuals who share the same passion for creating stories through photography. As a member, I expect to reach further heights in fighting for animal rights, and having my voice be heard more than ever. If I become a member, I will aim to learn, grow, and develop my skills until my practice becomes the best.
