Summary
I am grateful to be part of this year's Yunghi Grant Awardees.
The grant will help me kick off a personal project that has been on my mind and seeks to portray the Aftermath of the War on Drugs in my country.
Alejandra’s proposal covers a topic that is too often ignored in the news: the drug war in Mexico and the effect of the associated violence on victims as well as Mexican journalists who risk their lives to cover it all. With her sensitive eye and deep knowledge of her country, we feel confident she will address this topic with the urgency and insight it deserves.
