Photographer based in Mexico City, Mexico
Cultus tries to understand the evolution of faith in Mexico after its evangelization.
The story portrays an intimate look into a very conservative and patriarchal group
known as the Confraternity of Nazarenos funded in 1545 in Puebla, Mexico.
The confraternity played a big part in spreading the faith in the city during its first
three centuries but eventually was forgotten and went through a 132-year-old ban
when the country divided state and church with the Reforma Laws
forbidding any public religious demonstration.
