Life Beneath Ilba mountain
In this unique remote region, Halaib, Shalateen and Abu Ramad located in the very south of Egypt on the Red Sea coast, and embraced by the Great Elba mountain chains, a mountainous area formed 550 million years ago with a highest peak around 1,900 meters considered one of the richest national parks in Egypt with its diversity of vegetation, and wild life. the inhabitants of this region are from the Beja tribes an ethnic inhabiting Egypt, Sudan and Eritrea, between the River Nile and the Red Sea also the Bishara tribes and the Ababda tribe that originated from the Arab Peninsula. there is a network of valleys “ Wadi” in Gabal Elba and these valleys where inhabited thousands of years ago by our ancestors who left their traces on the rocks and in stone instalments. In wadi Abraq there are fascinating prehistoric engravings and Roman remains as it was one among many other trade routes .
