"Paint Bloomington!" second annual Paint-Out brings together five community arts organizations: The Arts Alliance of Greater Bloomington, Upland Plein Air, Bloomington Watercolor Society, Artists for Climate Awareness and The Portrait Group with grants from the BAC and Psi Iota Xi. Free classes, artists' demonstrations and supplies provided. No advance registration or fee. The event is open to professional and emerging artists of all ages and skill levels to create original artwork of any subject in any medium. All stamped/tagged works must be completed that day by 3 pm to be eligible for judging. Judges: Sally Gaskill and Robert Shakespeare. According to Babette Ballinger with the Bloomington Arts Commission, the 2023 Paint Out event hosted 35% more people and included more diversity.

Assignment: Follow a painter throughout the day. They will have six hours to complete their work. The photographer followed Anne-Karine Bley.

Much gratitude to Babette Ballinger.
