Stepfanie Aguilar

From landscapes to human documentary projects, I find joy and creative pleasure in telling stories through photography. I’m fascinated by our natural environments, drawn to mountains and deserts and lakes. I became more aware of the impact of photography from these places, can be used as a tool for discovery but also exploitation. As a photographer, I aim to be more mindful where and how I photograph what’s in front of me, what’s around me. As a response to climate change and how we, as humans, can do better to protect our planet, I am going beyond just photographing our beautiful landscapes but to also include the whole story of examples of neglect. As an artist, I do not want to turn away from what we’ve done as a human race. I want to capture our emotions and our actions outdoors.
