Cuba lived under the American embargo for the last 64 years. The regime provides for education and food but people where obliged to live in the same houses as their families as they where not allowed and didn't have the means to buy or construct new ones. Carolina Sandretto started "Vivir Con"¦" in 2014. While shooting in Cuba she focused on the habitat where people live and their habitat.

During the last six decades people took over old houses once belonging to people now gone and transformed them into Solar. A Solar is a multifamily and multicultural entity that represents the layers and the complexity of the contemporary Cuban society and creates a peculiar habitat. Often inhabited by as much as 30 different families, lodged in small tiny apartments that once where rooms, all sort of people. From young families to elderly people everyone lives and cohabits in small spaces with almost no privacy. This living situation creates a place where people live with their families, their objects that often belong to the 50's and with their neighbors.
