Drawing from personal memories and scattered fragments of experience —images, sounds, scents, and other sensations that inhabit the body— I portray moments from my childhood and adolescence that were never recorded. Through images, I re-stage scenes torn from memory; and together with girls and adolescents from my community, I recreate these episodes of my life using garments and objects my mother has tenderly preserved since my early years.Inspired by the ideas of the theater of the oppressed, particularly image theater, I give scenic form to thoughts and emotions scattered by trauma—frozen pieces, barely recognizable, hidden in the corners of the body. With each reenactment, a flashback is triggered: an intimate return to fantasies, fears, joys… and to a reunion with Angélica, my imaginary friend, who in childhood helped me translate emotions when words fell short. Each image is a dissociative performative scene, where color does not merely paint—it evokes. In its vibration, narratives of autobiographical postmemory are woven: stories that were never spoken, but still echo.
