Teresita Chavarria CamposCosta Rican, Photographer
She was born in Heredia, Costa Rica, on 19 October 1967. Currently she is a freelance journalist and documentary photographer.
She completed a diploma in ancient CUNA Photography (Colegio Universitario de Alajuela), current National Technical University (NTU). MSc in Communication, Bachelor in Graphic Design and studied Art History at the University of Costa Rica, San Jose.
In 1997 she started as a photojournalist in different media in the country, such as newspaper Al Dí­a (Costa Rica), newspaper La Nacion (Costa Rica), newspaper La Repíºblica (Costa Rica), Perfil Magazine (Costa Rica), Rumbo Magazine (Costa Rica) USA Today (USA), Orange County (Cal. USA), America Economia Magazine (Chile), Estrategia y Negocios Magazine (Costa Rica), Femme Magazine (Costa Rica), Alo Magazine (Colombia).In the same year she works  in Costa Rica and then in 2003 in Panama to Agence France Presse until 2007, after working for the German agency DPA until 2013.She has worked as a freelance photographer for Getty Images .Making publishing in different media like Getty Images and other publications of the agencies.
Conducts workshops with the Italian photographer Ernesto Bazan in Cuba; with the Fundacion Nuevo Periodismo offered by the American photographer Susan Meiselas in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

In addition to photographers as: Matias Costa (Spain), Jose Angel Murillo (Panama), Essdras M. Suarez (Panama), Gary Chapman (EU) and filmmaker Hostiu Armel (France) (2009).Also participated in the workshop "Fiebre Curatorial" with curators Inti Guerrero (Colombia) and Pablo La Fuente (Spain), in Theoretical, San Jose, Costa Rica (2014) and the online workshop " Art criticism as an exercise in creative writing "(2015), among other academic and cultural activities.

She has participated in various solo and group exhibitions in Costa Rica, Panama and Argentina.

She has won the following awards:

2015 he received the National Prize of Culture 2014: Pio Ví­quez Journalism. Ministerio de Cultura Juventud y Deportes. San Jose, Costa Rica.

1993, he received the second place in the Competition on Women. Center for Women and Family, Ministerio de Cultura Juventud y Deportes. San Jose, Costa Rica.
