Public Project
SEDIEROSSE REMOTE
Summary
Remote Red Chairs is a project that takes pictures remotely. You can use Face Time or Whats App to set up the picture and then someone at home can take it and email it to the photographer. This way, people who are stuck at home due to COVID19 can keep taking pictures for the project. Famous people in Italy like architects, designers, journalists, entrepreneurs and influencers are doing this project too.

The concept originated from a brainstorming session between designer Carlotta Vegni, journalist Giorgio Tartaro and me. The idea involves taking portraits from a distance using remote framing, set up beforehand with FaceTime or WhatsApp, and subsequently triggering the shot by someone who is at home with the subject. The photo is then sent to the photographer via email.
This way, the photographer can continue their project without leaving their house due to the COVID19 restrictions. They direct the shoot by giving instructions, selecting the right point, and optimal light within the subject's home. Even though the medium used is mostly a smartphone, the result is of good quality.
So far, important names from the Italian architecture and design industries, including architects, designers, journalists, entrepreneurs, and influencers, are participating.
