Summary

James Reade Venable's most published photo transferred to B & W

James Reade Venable's most published photograph 'Dusk at Ditmars' was converted to B & W and retitled 'Dusk at Astoria BLVD'. James wanted to see if his well received photograph was just as powerful visually in the black and white medium. He really loved it in B & W and has been submitting it and it found a home. Glass Mountain, the University of Houston's undergraduate literary journal has published it in their most recent issue. James did some color editing with the original and enhanced the purple color of the evening sky which always made him feel like he was cheating. However he always loved the composition of this photograph; and now that it is published in B & W, it is a little bit of a confirmation of the basic quality of the image.
