Summary
A small look at the windows and building exteriors on East 6th Street in the East Village which show a lot of support for Ukraine at the moment.
I was heading to A-1 records to buy some rare vinyl, specifically Patti Smith, for my wife's Xmas present to her sister-in-law. I got off at W.8th street and walked from there. I had my camera with me because I had, and needed to shoot. It had been a while. After some abstract shots of Astor place, I headed to the store. The route I choose took me down E.6th st. Immediately I was noticing Ukrainian Flags here and there. I started shooting and composing to document, what seemed to me an ample amount of flags. It didn't surprise me though, I was aware of a strong Ukrainian presence in the East Village. There had always been the famous eatery Veselka, and the Ukrainian National Home right off St.Marks on 2nd Ave. There area is also known as "Little Ukraine". Though E.7th street is known to have the heaviest number of Ukrainians, E.6th was glowing with the welcoming blue and warm gold colors. On a rainy and gray day the flags color palette inspired me to capture and document this. This visual story is the result.
