During my visit to Souq Al Qattara in Al Ain, I had the chance to see the beautiful traditional summer houses (Areesh). These houses, made from palm fronds, tell the story of how Emirati people once lived in harmony with nature, using local materials to stay cool in the desert heat.
In the evening light, the Areesh houses looked magical. The soft golden sunlight highlighted the patterns and textures of the palm fronds, creating stunning shadows and warm colors. It felt like stepping back in time to a simpler way of life.
This visit reminded me of the importance of preserving such traditions and sharing their stories with others.
