From Poachers to Protectors is a series of photos featuring a group of men who have made a positive impact on the environment. They have achieved this by changing their ways from destructive killers taking their prey, to the heroes of wildlife and its natural habitat.

These people were all born and raised in families in which poaching was a way of life.

As they grew into men, the habit turned into an addiction.  They became the culprits for the decrease in populations of the animals that they hunted and caught in the mountains that surrounded their village.

Each of these men had experienced difficult times in their lives, but, gradually, they came to realize that the cause of their unhappiness was their own poaching.  With this realization, they began to seek redress for the damage that they had done to their environment.

They stopped poaching and began to protect the wildlife that was indigenous to the mountains that were their home. Now, they connect with mother nature with hearts full of regret, but with hope for the future and a love for their land and its animals that strengthens their determination to both nurture and protect it.
