About

(b. 1985, USA) I became interested in photography while souping film in the basement of his dormitory attending the University of Illinois where I was studying for a Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences degree. When I graduated in 2008, my focus shifted toward focusing on daily storytelling and experimenting with longer-term narrative stories through work at newspapers in Seattle, Kansas, and Milwaukee. Starting the graduate program at Ohio University in 2009 meant a exploring a deeper interest social documentary work while expanding my perceptions of photography and people. In 2010, I attended the Eddie Adams Workshop, was a winner in the Magenta Foundation’s Flash Forward 2011 and was featured during the LOOK3 SHOTS presentation of 2011. Currently I am in Concord, New Hampshire working on completing my Master’s project while also filling in as an intern for the Concord Monitor. In May of 2012, I will be traveling to New York to begin an internship with The New York Times.
