Located in the Shenandoah Valle... still remains a mystery to me.

Located in the Shenandoah Valley, this roadside attraction will give you a nice break from all the greenery. Fiberglass dinosaurs take over the forest in which it was built. A walk way leads you on a path around each sculpted dinosaur. Although Dinosaur Land is just for kicks, it serves an education purpose as well. You can read about the dinosaur’s weight, size and diet as you walk the path because each dinosaur is labeled with its name and fun facts. Looking at the sculptures I became more interested in the reason behind the attraction, and less interested in the attraction itself. After chatting with the clerk inside the gift shop, the story of the man behind the Dinosaur was revealed. She explained The Natural History Museum, located in Washington DC, inspired the attraction, and the owner’s love for sculpture made it easy to create. As much as I appreciate the clerk sharing the story and history of the attraction, Dinosaur Land still remains a mystery to me.

It started with a conversation. I was just about to graduate with a BFA and had no clue what to do with it. I found myself sitting in Philadelphia most loved park, Rittenhouse Square, discussing with friends the closing doors of opportunity as we graduate during a recession. All of my college friends were struggling to find work, and unless I created my own doors to open, I knew I would be telling the same story. It was that night I decided to leave Philadelphia and begin to travel. I packed my bags and hit the road with my camera, my dog, and my dreams. My ambition quickly became a reality and my home slowly began to disappear, as my journey grew into a story of American Dreams and the search for true freedom.

Over the past five years I have spent my time traveling and photographing my home; the United States of America. My goal is to experience and understand the diversity of which my country celebrates, as we are, the land of the free. I have compiled a series of photos that illustrate what I believe to be the most beautiful and unique places of America. In this booklet, you will find some of the many images I wish to share with the American public. Although I feel my portfolio has vast insight to present, I know my work will never be finished as my drive to explore is fierce, and my options are endless. In conclusion, I think you will enjoy the images I have collected, and as such, I will allow the juxtaposition of American beauty and oddities speak for themselves.
