Summary
In Raqqa, inside the safe spaces for women, girls, and children to discuss prevention, sexuality, rights, and education.
Commodity costs have skyrocketed and an economic downturn is sweeping through Northeastern Syria. The devaluation of the national currency has resulted in millions of households being displaced, forcing women and girls to come up with different ways to make money and help out their families.
Thousands of children lack any sort of educational opportunities, while only privileged households can afford to pay for private schooling.
I traveled between Raqqa and other cities in northeastern Syria to tell about the safe space that provide women, girls, and children a few hours of refuge daily, where they discuss topics related to prevention, sexuality, rights and education.
